3A - My Entrepreneurship Story
The first time I was truthfully exposed to entrepreneurship was my sophomore year of high school. During this time, I had just moved from Atsugi, Japan to Oak Harbor, Washington. One of the classes I decided to take was Retail Management, and my teacher would rather frequently refer to his printing company called Ashley's Design. After an incredible semester in his class, he offered to give me a job at his company and I accepted - it was my first real job aside from babysitting. After two years of working closely with him, seeing his entrepreneurship expand the business, I found my passion for business. That's when I applied to the University of Florida as a business major, and since my enrollment I haven't changed my major. His classes and his company opened my eyes to endless opportunities.
I enrolled in ENT3003 because I've heard fantastic reviews about the course. Many of my friends and colleagues have taken the course, and still say it is one of their favorite classes till this day. Truthfully, I'm looking to get a fresh perspective out of the class. I want to learn how to think like a true entrepreneur and how to recognize as well as act on the endless opportunities around us today.
Hi Caitlyn!
ReplyDeleteI found your entrepreneurship story very interesting and I can relate closely with it as it is very similar to my own story. I find it impressing that you moved across the world and were able to adjust well enough to find a job that you found intriguing within just a semester! I liked hearing about your commitment and passion for business, I would have liked to know more about what your duties at Ashley's Design were.
